Although we often take it for granted air travel is pretty amazing. You’re sitting in a chair at 35,000 feet moving about 500 miles an hour.

Brian Clegg:
And it’s not been that long if you think it was 1903 that the Wright brothers first took to the sky, so we’re talking just over 100 years – I think we ought to regard it as something amazing.

You really can improve your car's gas mileage.

Lauren Fix:
The first thing you can do actually costs nothing and that is tighten down your gas cap. Last year 147 million gallons of gas evaporated because of broken, missing or loose gas caps.

If you’ve looked at traveling this summer you’ve probably noticed that airfares are higher.

Gabe Saglie:
We’ve known for a long time that airlines were looking to hike some airfare, reduce capacity on their end, using smaller aircraft, taking some aircraft out of rotation all together – and airfare has gone up.
 

Mike Carruthers:

Remember not all that long ago when you bought an airline ticket you'd get it from your local travel agent.

Michelle Morgan:
In the 80's there were travel agencies on every corner because they primarily dispensed airline tickets, which had to be distributed in paper.
