Interview with Regina Leeds, author of the book The 8 Minute Organizer: Easy Solutions to Simplify Your Life in Your Spare Time
Regina Leeds, author of the book The 8 Minute Organizer, has a few simple ideas that will help you get better organized. And the first…
Is going into your closet and removing all of the plastic covers that came home from the cleaners. You are sealing in potentially carcinogenic compounds which you will be breathing when you next wear the garment, so you want to take it off for safety. And you also want to take them off because those little buggers take up a lot of room, so you have more space in your closet once they’re gone.
Next stop is the kitchen.
In the kitchen we all have drawers that are just chalk full of stuff that we don’t need, don’t want, and don’t use. You know one of the things we do is we get gadgets and we buy them over time and we don’t even remember what they’re for – so toss those.
Paper is a big problem in a lot of households.
One of the great things to do is to have one designated spot where the mail goes, where the school kid’s papers go. At the container store there’s something called a newspaper bin that’s what I use, I drop my newspaper in there, I drop my mail in there, and then there’s only one spot where it can be and then there should only be one time of day when you go through everything.
