Mike Carruthers:
After a divorce or breakup many people have trouble finding love again – but it is possible.

Terri Orbuch:
I’ve been following the same 746 individuals now for over 25 years, 71% found new love again. They felt better physically and psychologically when they found new love.

Dr. Terri Orbuch, author of the book Finding Love Again, says one thing that prevents people from finding new love is clinging to the past.

In my study though, those individuals who did not have very strong emotions connected to the past, who were able to say, “I don’t feel much of anything toward my  x” were significantly more likely to find new love again.

And what’s the best way to meet someone new? Well actually there are 3 best ways.

The 1st was individuals joined a group activity that met regularly. So you could join a religious group that meets every month, you could join a book club, a wine appreciation club.

The 2nd way is getting set up or going on a blind date.

It turns out that if a family member or friend fixes you up they know you, they know that other person and they think that something about the 2 of you, you have in common. The 3rd most common is online dating; we know that online dating is very successful.
