It is the old Dale Carnegie quote, "You can make more friends in two months by being truly interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."

Be fascinated and you will be fascinating. Be interested and you will be interesting. Don't try to impress them - let them impress you and they will love you for it.

So, just how do you do that?

You listen; you drink in their every word as if it were the most fascinating thing you have ever heard. It really is your job to find out what they're passionate about - every person on earth has one thing they're passionate about. And get them to talk about that because that will make them interesting.

And Olivia says charismatic people understand the importance of eye contact.

Because the area around the eyes is one of the most mobile of the entire human body, thus it's one of the most expressive. So, when you give people full eye contact you're also giving them full expressiveness. The other thing is that when you look deeply into each other's eyes there's an adrenaline like substance called phenylethylamine or PEA that goes gushing through your bloodstream and theirs. And it's the same hormone that produces the phenomenon called "love at first sight" - you want that hormone.
