Health is about how people feel. It’s their sense of wellbeing; it’s their physical, and mental and social wellbeing. And we don’t see it that way we talk about healthcare we talk about absence of disease. When people are actually healthy they’re far more productive, they’re far more creative and you end up with a healthier economy as well. Because when people are sick they don’t work well.
Today health is all about lifestyle. How you choose to live your life determines for the most part how healthy you are and how long you will live.
The longest lived populations in the world are in the United States they’re Asian American women in metropolitan New York City. That’s not because they have superior healthcare it’s because of how they live. And we can learn the same techniques from them that anybody else can.
To live a healthy lifestyle requires an understanding of what our bodies are built for.
Our bodies are built to move, our bodies are built to socialize, our bodies are built for whole foods, our bodies are built for all kinds of joy and what are we doing? We’re hanging out in front of the monitor. There are a lot of things that we can do that are just very simple basic stuff that will get people much healthier. |
