We’ve all heard the caution to be careful about what you post on Facebook or elsewhere online because it could come back to bite you.

35% of employers say that they will not hire a person because of a Facebook post primarily having a drink in your hand.

One 24 year old school teacher went to Ireland and she posted 700 photos of Ireland there’s one of her having a beer at the Genius factory and she was forced out of her job as a high school teacher.

 

The police and other agencies are paying attention to what people post.

 

For example courts are using this information so they might take custody of a child away from a woman just because she has a sexy photo up on Facebook. In addition courts have used evidence from a Facebook picture of a kid wearing gang colors to charge that kid as being a gang member.

 

If and until the laws are ever changed your online life whether real or not can be used against you. Lori says even the IRS looks at Facebook pictures.

 

To see if you have possessions that seem to be more than you should be able to afford on your salary. Homeland security searches for the use of certain terms and it’s become a big resource for law enforcement.
