Carruthers:
Do
you need an original gift idea for Valentine's Day? Try thinking
a little differently.
Cheryl McClary PhD:
In other words use your creativity, use your imagination
- put the giggles back in your relationships.
Dr. Cheryl McClary,
author of the book The
Commitment Chronicles, the Power of Staying Together…
So for Valentine's
Day one simple thing that I would wish for every couple out
there whether you're dating, married… I would wish that you
give two minutes a day (for example my husband and I pick 9:30
every night, we've been doing this for ten years now) that for
two minutes we're going to hold hands and we're going to tell
each other why we fell in love, tell each what they did that
day that we might have forgotten to say thank you for. Every
single person can give two minutes to committing to the person
you love.
Too often we
get focused on what's wrong with our partner that annoys us,
this Valentine's Day Dr. McClary says, use the holiday to change
your focus.
I asked my husband
last Valentine's Day - you've given me everything that I could
ever need, I would like for you to write down five things you
love about me and I'll do the same for you - and that was the
best Valentine's Day present ever - I treasure it.
