Mike
Carruthers:
What
all affects your health? Perhaps a lot more than you realize.
For example your outlook on life…
Larry Dossey
M.D.:
Optimists live a heck of a lot longer than people who are pessimistic.
They have stronger immune systems, more robust cardiovascular
systems. Optimism probably affects every organ in the body.
Dr. Larry Dossey,
author of the book, The
Extraordinary Healing Power Of Ordinary Things says having
a sense of spirituality is also good for your health because…
If they do, they
live, on average, seven to thirteen years longer than people
who do not follow a spiritual path. And they happen also to
have a lower incidence of all the major diseases you want to
look at. Spirituality is simply a felt connection with something
higher than the individual self.
And if you hear
voices in your head that maybe a good thing.
People who are
perfectly sane and brilliant and highly accomplished on private
surveys will often admit that they hear voices. And that many
of these are health related. They hear advise from the voice
that often is life saving. My favorite survey is done in nurses,
about 150 of them, about ten years ago and they were asked about
voices. About 30% of them said they had heard voices and they
considered them one of the most inspiring moments of their life.
None of these women said that anything about this was at all
scary. I think we ought to pay more attention to this.
