Mike
Carruthers:
Ever look at someone who's more successful than you and think
their success was just a matter of luck? Well, chances are it
was not.
Jim Bouchard:
Successful people fail ninety-nine percent of the time, that's
what I found in my study.
Jim Bouchard,
author of the book Dynamic
Concepts of Personal Power…
Well I've done
it myself, I've failed in many things but I'm going to talk
about failure with the little "f". I won't accept
failure with a capital "F" but failure with a little
"f"- I accept that, that's part of the journey and
successful people are willing to face that and to continue through
it.
It's tempting
sometimes to look at people who have more of what you want and
say…
"Why don't
I have my share?" Again it's up to me to develop my share
of this abundance. One of the fastest ways to do this, one of
the most efficient ways too is to show appreciation. "Look
what I have" and we start from there. If we're drawing
breath and we're able to move and we've got enough food today
we have more than a lot of people on the planet do. And the
greatest thing we have in our society is opportunity - our society
only guarantees us one thing and that's opportunity, then it's
up to me to seize the opportunity.
And to achieve
success in anything, says Jim, you have to take action.
There's a lot
of positive thinking gurus around and positive thinking is certainly
necessary it's a necessary ingredient but without taking action
all that positive energy and all that positive thinking really
isn't doing much for you. Anything worthwhile requires hard
work.
