Mike
Carruthers:
Just about everybody has a credit score. It's a three-digit number between 350
and 850. Philip
Tirone: And that three-digit number can literally have a six-digit
impact on your life. And 720 is the magic number you really need in order to pay
the least amount in interest rates, points and fees. Philip
Tirone, creator of the 7 Steps to a 720 Credit
Score system… To
give you an example, on a $300,000 home loan, the difference between a 720 credit
score and a 619 credit score is $589.00 a month. On a $20,000 car loan the difference
between a 720 credit score and credit score below 620 is a $150.00 a month. Paying
your bills on time is the key to a good credit score. But there are things you
may not be aware of that can hurt your credit score. Mike,
if you're buying a big screen TV for the Superbowl and you buy this TV and it's
delayed payments...you know, no payments for twelve months. That will actually
have a negative impact on your credit score, just for taking out that finance
loan. And in today's
tight credit market, keeping your credit score high is so important. Literally,
if you have a 700 credit score not a 720 credit score, it could stop you from
getting approved on loans. I mean your credit score is the one thing that they
look at and they make a decision black and white. For
