Is It Ever Okay To Cheat?
Interview with Jon M. Huntsman, author of Winners Never Cheat

Mike Carruthers:

Jon is a self-made billionaire, philanthropist and father of nine. One of his sons is the governor of Utah. Jon says when you cheat…

You've always got to be looking over your shoulder; you've always got to be wondering who knows that I did this. You're a little bit on the run all the time when your word isn't your bond or when you've cheated somebody. You know, I tell the story in the book about when I'm a young boy and I reach in and try to take an ice cream sandwich out of a … they've just been invented in those days…and the lady in the store asks me if I was going to pay for it. And I didn't think that she had seen me take it. I put it back sheepishly and she never said another thing. But I thought about it every day of my life. It wouldn't have been worth it because she would have known and I would have known all through my life that I stole that. And that's how it is when we do things that we shouldn't be doing. Our conscience never leaves us alone.
