Mike
Carruthers:
If
you could actually fill up your brain, how much information could
it hold?
Pierce J. Howard,
PhD:
One estimate is that the brain can hold the equivalent
information in text and images of one thousand million paged
books, or a million thousand paged books, however you want to
say it.
Piece Howard,
author of the book, The
Owner's Manual For The Brain, says in order to keep your
brain healthy and in good shape…
Don't engage
in a zero fat diet. You've got to have fat to keep your neuromembranes
subtle. If you eliminate fat from your diet, your membranes
literally will dry out and dissipate. Second, get plenty of
fresh air; if you can't get to fresh air during the day get
an ion generator to put in your office.
Also Piece says
your brain needs natural sunlight.
In Europe in
many places it's a law that all offices have to have exposure
to outdoor sun. If you're not exposed to natural sunlight the
tendency is for you to get sleepy, because sunlight stops the
production of melatonin in the body. Melatonin is the sleep
neurotransmitter-so you want to completely shut that down when
you're working. If you can't be exposed to natural sunlight,
then you need to get a lamp for your office or work area that
has what we call a CRI, a Color-Rendering Index of 90 or greater.
Tomorrow, more
things you can do for your brain, I'm Mike Carruthers and that's
Something You Should Know.
