Mike
Carruthers:
One day you hear drinking coffee is bad for you. Next day there's
a study saying it's good for you.
David French:
Depending
on what you read, there are all the usual reasons for being worried
about coffee - including the fact that it can increase your chances
of developing carpel tunnel syndrome. Now why that would be, I
have no idea. On the other hand, people who don't drink coffee
are more likely to contract Parkinson's disease.
David French author of the book, Everything
Is Bad For You has found evidence that about everything you
can think of can cause harm.
Laughing weakens muscles and can lead in extreme cases to a
form of narcolepsy, but if you don't laugh enough you're more
likely to have heart disease. In terms of your domestic arrangements,
if you're alone, your death rate goes up. If you have a partner,
that leads to quarrels that depress your immune system. And if
you rely on having a pet, you end up with diseases or being bitten.
Even your doorbell is bad for you.
Jumping up to answer the doorbell can give you a stroke, and
Tiger Woods is bad for you. A lot of people have ended up apparently
with lawsuits because they think they're Tiger, try to match the
power of his drives, spray the ball around, do themselves or other
people damage. You know that being dirty is bad for you, but being
clean means that your immune system gets lazy and that's going
to lead to a greater likelihood of getting asthma, allergies,
autoimmune diseases, and various kinds of diabetes.
