Mike Carruthers:
Like it or not your kitchen is probably full of bacteria.
Laura
Dellutri:
There was a study done by the University of Arizona that
said you may be better off making a sandwich on top of your
toilet seat than on top of your kitchen counter.
Cleaning
expert, Laura Dellutri, author of the book,
Speed Cleaning 101…
The reason
why is because mainly of sponges. Sponges harbor the most infectious
bacteria and what I recommend is that if you do use a sponge,
that's great, I know a lot of people love sponges, but you have
to remember to clean them daily. Now you can clean them in a
little bleach and water solution or you can put them in the
microwave.
Interestingly
one place a lot of people miss cleaning is the refrigerator
handle.
That's
something that you could forget so easily to clean. But it again
is one of the top five in the most bacteria infested places
in your kitchen. The other four are sponges and kitchen rags,
kitchen sinks, trash cans and cutting boards.
And mold
can be a big household problem.
Especially
any place that you have moisture and humidity like your bathroom,
your grout, your shower tracks. So I recommend that you use
peroxide, ordinary hydrogen peroxide will kill that mold fungi
and a lot of people don't know that.
Tomorrow,
what's lurking in your bathroom? I'm Mike Carruthers and that's
Something You Should Know.
