Finding The Courage To Go After Your Dream
Interview
with Margie Warrell, author of Find
Your Courage!

Mike
Carruthers:
To get what you want in life takes courage.
Margie Warrell:
As human beings we fail far more from timidity than we do from
over-daring. As we look back on life, we regret a lot more of
the things we didn't do than the things we did.
Margie Warrell,
author of the book
Find Your Courage!, says fear stops us from going after
what we want. So, step one…
Is getting really
clear about what it is you really want. Another thing is getting
present. How will you feel twelve months from now if nothing
has changed? For example, if you're still in that dead end job?
We often worry
about what other people will think if we try something and fail
or try something they may not approve of. However,
Often we're far
more likable and attractive to people when we're really ourselves
than when we're trying to please everybody. And I'm sure you've
met people (like I have) who, when they're trying to keep everybody
happy they're not as attractive as someone is who's more of
a; "You know I'm going to do what works for me"- type
of person. It's not about being selfish, it's really just saying,
" I don't have to live my life according to what everyone
else thinks I should be doing."
And remember
if you do try something and fail, you will handle it.
It's interesting
- sometimes you hear people's language about things, "If
that happened it'd kill me, or if that happened I'd die."
It's that really extreme language and the fact is if that happened
it wouldn't kill you and you wouldn't die - you'd deal with
it.
