Expert Cleaning Tips II
Interview
with Laura Dellutri author of Speed
Cleaning 101
|
Mike Carruthers:
Probably the worst place to keep your toothbrush is in the
toothbrush holder in your bathroom.
Laura
Dellutri:
And the reason why is because every time we flush our
toilets, the water aerosolizes up to twenty feet in the air
and it lands on everything.
Cleaning

Cleaning 101…
Our toothbrushes,
our countertops, our light switch plates. Everything can be
in there from urine to fecal matter so it's very, very important
that we cover our toothbrushes.
Laura
says it's a myth that newspapers are good for cleaning windows.
It's
one of the worst things you can ever use because it actually
leaves an ink residue. A better way is to use a microfiber cleaning
cloth, a 100% cotton cleaning cloth or a window squeegee-- that's
what the professionals have been doing for years.
Some
cleaning experts say that vinegar is good for cleaning a lot
of things around the house but Laura says, be careful.
I'm so
tired of reading in these magazines, put vinegar on a pet stain.
That is the worst thing you can do. You're putting acid on top
of an acidic substance. That just doesn't make any sense. It
stinks to high heaven and it really doesn't clean anything.
I don't like vinegar on hardwood floors and it actually has
deteriorated so many people's hardwood floors, no wax floors,
linoleum floors.
