Mike
Carruthers:
A big part of looking for a new job is having the right attitude.
Laura George:
And that's where the law of attraction comes in. What you focus
on expands in your life. When you focus on unemployment you
attract more unemployment; when you focus on opportunities you
see more opportunities.
Laura George,
author of the book Excuse
Me, Your Job is Waiting…
We've all had
days when we've felt on top of the world and we go into those
stores and we have great clerks and we get on the roads and
there's great drivers - that's because we're putting out the
good energy. When you're looking for a job you have to put resumes
out there, you have to knock on a few doors. But if you're putting
out good energy and feeling good about the value you bring,
people will walk into your life that are willing to help you.
And even if you don't believe in this law of attraction stuff
at all, look at it from a common-sense perspective. People would
rather help somebody with a good attitude than somebody that's
being snarly.
Statistically,
eighty percent of us find our next job through someone we know
- so that's a good place to concentrate your efforts. And Laura
says; when you are looking for work - work smart.
Most of us accomplish
eighty percent of our productivity in twenty percent of our
time. The same is true with job searchers - you know what hours
you're productive, you know what hours you can get a lot done.
Schedule your job search process for the day during those couple
of hours when you're really productive - get your work out of
the way and feel good about it and then find something you can
do that you enjoy.
