What Do You Think Happens When You Die?
II
Interview
with Janis Amatuzio, M.D. author of the book Forever
Ours
Mike
Carruthers:
Interesting thing about death…
Janis
Amatuzio:
Death is the only thing that I can think of where
a death in the family will get you out of work, ou of court,
out of cooking, out of cleaning because everybody knows that
you have to give grief your full attention.
Forensic
pathologist and Coroner, Dr. Janis Amatuzio is author of the
book Forever
Ours which is a compilation of stories from families of
the deceased of dreams, visions and coincidences that have happened
to them. They've also happened to Dr. Amatuzio.
The first
one was when my grandmother died, (my mother's mother). The
night after she died I was awakened at about four in the morning,
it was as real to me as me talking to you right now, and my
"Gammy", I could see her at the foot of my bed and
she said to me, "Janis I am just fine." And I remember
my heart was very comforted that it really helped me in the
days to come.
But what
about those of us who have had no such experience, why haven't
our deceased relatives contacted us? It's a question Dr. Amatuzio
is often asked. Her answer…
I don't
know. But if I did know perhaps I would say our loved ones would
probably stop at nothing to let us know that they're just fine
because I've heard so many stories. I think the best gift we
can give to one another is the ability to make our own meaning.
