October 19, 2004 How Anyone Can Be Wealthy
II Interview
with Brian Tracy author of the book, Getting
Rich Your Own Way Mike
Carruthers: There are a lot of wealthy people who you've never heard of… Brian
Tracy: Ninety-nine
percent of all the money in America is low key, slow growth, careful, cautious,
one dollar at a time money. Brian
Tracy author of the book, Getting
Rich Your Own Way… You
know sometimes we read about the Donald Trump's and the dot com millionaires and
so on. But these are so extraordinarily rare that they get written down for the
papers. I worked quite extensively with the people who wrote The Millionaire Next
Door and The Millionaire Mindset and they've done twenty-five, thirty years of
research and interviewed tens of thousands of self made millionaires and virtually
all of them without exception come from limited backgrounds. And they accept complete
responsibility for their financial futures. They don't blame others or make excuses
they just get busy. And
they get busy in low-key ventures like real estate and small businesses. Brian
believes the only reason anyone isn't wealthy is they simply don't try. We
say that unsuccessful people move in their minds to a beautiful place called "Someday
Isle". Someday I'll give that a try, someday I'll start living on less than
I earn, someday I'll save some money, someday I'll start a business. So they live
on "Someday Isle" and years of their lives go by then they blame all
their problems on taxes and on the government and on something else. But the fact
is that everybody starts at the same starting line. They only question is what
you do after that. At
