17, 2007: The # 1 Electronic Gift To Give Interview
with David Gregg Senior Editor www.BehindTheBuy.com |
Mike
Carruthers:
What is the number one electronic gift to give this Christmas? David
Gregg: Four years running now it's still digital photography it
tends to be the number one hot item and people are still confused as to the whole
mega pixel "shmega" pixel thing.David
Gregg Senior Editor of BehindTheBuy.com
says the mega pixel number is important because… The
higher the mega pixels, basically the bigger the enlargement you can make without
forfeiting the integrity of the contrast - and also the resolution of the picture. You
should choose a camera that has optical zoom as opposed to digital zoom. Optical
zoom will give you a better picture and you also want a digital camera with image
stabilization. Image
stabilization does just that. It stabilizes the image so when you're taking a
picture you have to push the shutter release and there's usually a lag time. In
that lag time a person can move and cause the image to go out of focus. When you
have image stabilization, what that does, it actually stabilizes the image during
that lag time - so you don't get any blur. As
for new electronic gadgets, David says, he really likes this new thing called
Ooma. That's spelled;
O-O-M-A.(www.ooma.com). It's a way to make phone
calls online. You buy this hub or this box and you hook it up to your home router
and you pay a one-time fee of four hundred dollars, and for the rest of your life
you can send and receive calls, local and long distance for free. You
