Carruthers:
The people who are truly winners in life tend to share some very important traits.
Tom Bay: Spirituality is one that comes up consistently
because it anchors a person.
Tom Bay, author of the book Look
Within Or Do Without - 13 Qualities Winners All Share. It
seems to be the main focus of people that have been really successful. They have
something in their mind that says, "I am not the biggest thing in my life.
There is a spiritual aspect that makes me what I am today."
Another
trait winners all share is enthusiasm.
And, they hang around people
who are enthusiastic. They seek it out. I really believe that in order for you
to have enthusiasm, and consistently nurture it, you have to be around enthusiastic
people. You can't give it if you don't have it, and you can't catch it if you're
not around. It's just like the measles.
And you might not think
of it as a trait exactly, but luck is something winners also share.
And
I would question people -, I would say, "well, how do you come up with luck?
I hear you talk about why you've been successful. ('Well, I've done this or I've
been decisive, I've been hardworking, I'm enthusiastic, and you know I've had
a fair amount of luck.') Well how do you get luck? It's just an attitude.I've
had that answer to me consistently, It's an attitude. I like this term, "opportunity
meeting preparedness is what luck equals." Most of the people I'd talk to
would say the same thing. They would say "I was just prepared for the best
to happen, and I knew it would. And, nine times out of ten it did happen for me"
