Valentine's Day Gift Ideas
Interview
with Gregory Godek, author of 1001
Ways to Be Romantic
Mike
Carruthers:
It will soon be Valentine's Day, time to be romantic.
Gregory
Godek:
Let me tell you what romance really is. Romance is the expression
of love, it is the action step of love.
Greg Godek,
author of the book 1001
Ways to Be Romantic, has some different ideas for Valentine's
Day gifts.
Let's
just say your partner is a Barbra Streisand fanatic. You come
home on Friday with an armload of movies starring Barbra Streisand
and all weekend long, you're going to have a Barbra Streisand
film festival. Your partner will love this. You can do it with
a favorite book, you can do it with a favorite singing group.
Certainly,
giving a dozen red roses is a classic Valentine's Day gift,
though Greg thinks it's a little boring.
All right,
even if you're going to insist on giving her a dozen roses,
give it a creative twist. Give her a dozen roses, but make sure
there are eleven red roses and one white rose. And here's the
note you put with it: "In every bunch, there's one who
stands out. And you are that one."
And Greg
believes that breakfast in bed is always a good idea for Valentine's
Day.
But here's
a creative twist on that idea. What about serving dinner in
bed? People don't do that, do they? And yet it could be so much
fun.
